Haircut Time

How often and why you should cut your hair

If in doubt about regular haircuts, here are some reasons why this habit should be part of your hair care routine:

  • Freshly cut hair will grow faster and healthier. Hair dye, bleaching powder, or styling products regularly damage your hair adornment and you often face the unpleasant appearance of split ends. No matter how much you want your hair long, the split ends will be permanently cut, preventing the growth of the hair in length. Moreover, styling products that promise to restore the split strand, beyond the fact that they are quite expensive, will at most manage to prevent the formation of other split ends, but only after trimming the affected ones.
  • It is essential to have always arranged hair, whose styling to last throughout the day. Freshly cut hair is easier to straighten, compared to that “burned” and damaged hair, which does not settle in any way, regardless of the styling products you use. In addition, the excess of such products will unsightly load your hair.
  • If you have long and damaged hair for most of its length, you have two options: either opt for a hair restoration treatment, or cut more of its length. Shorter hair will give you a fresh instant look, especially since there are dramatic changes in trends.

How often do specialists recommend cutting our hair?

For regularly dyed hair, it is recommended to trim the tips regularly for about 4-6 weeks, or more properly after each dyeing.

As I said above, postponing the cutting of split ends will cause even more damage to your hair, and you will never get extra length in the strand. We say that, because the affected part of the thread will continue to expand and will affect the less damaged part of it.

If you have experienced chemical treatments that have deeply damaged your hair, it is recommended to find a shorter hairstyle to get rid of damaged hair as soon as possible, in parallel with the application of care treatments.

In terms of look, depending on the style of hairstyle you opted for on the last visit to the salon, you will decide with your hairstyler the next date when you will get a haircut. For example, even if your hair is healthy and well-groomed, but you have opted for a short bob or pixie haircut, you need to adjust your haircut every 3-4 weeks. For an average haircut, you can trim the haircut up to two months.

Remember: no matter how healthy your hair is (or you think it is), it should be trimmed regularly, depending on the degree of damage or the hairstyle chosen!
