How to detect a fake perfume

We are all very happy when we buy a quality perfume at a bargain price and most of the time we have the feeling that we have made a real deal. We must keep in mind, however, that a perfume purchased well below the market price from so-called intermediaries, people who sell through block gangs or on various questionable sites, is unlikely to be a real one.

Here are some tips that can help you in the future when you decide to buy a perfume, but you have doubts about its authenticity.

1. The price of the perfume

We reiterate what I wrote at the beginning of the article, stating that the process of creating a perfume is quite time consuming and expensive, therefore no brand manufacturer will launch a product without profit or worse, which would cause financial losses. .

If you want to be sure of its authenticity, make sure you buy your perfume from established perfumeries or from their official websites.

2. Packaging

Don’t just follow the brand logo on the box. The technology allows the creation of such identical logos. The packaging must be intact, the plastic film is glued tightly to the box and leaves no wrinkles. Also, the perfume seal should be no more than 5 mm thick and should not show traces of glue.

Another thing to keep in mind: the code on the box must be printed or pressed on cardboard, not glued and especially identical to the one on the glass.

The bottle must not show any scratches and the spray of an original perfume will not let any traces of perfume flow.

3. Spraying

Authentic perfumes are usually more oily, which means that sprayed from a distance of 20 cm on a glossy surface (glass, glass), do not leak, compared to a fake perfume that will drip.

4. Persistence

The ultimate test in testing the authenticity of a perfume is given by its persistence. A branded perfume should last more than 24 hours, depending on its base or top notes. If after 2-3 hours of use you have found that your perfume no longer persists, you have certainly been fooled and you are dealing with a fake.

Health risks

The downside is that beyond the money spent on a useless product, you can end up with serious health problems, from dermatitis or various skin allergies to skin cancer. These conditions are most often caused by high concentrations of perfumes and harmful substances that make up fake perfumes, added in excess just to make the product imitate the original as well as possible.
