
Negative emotions. How much they influence us and how they can be kept under control.
We all know that emotions are of two kinds: positive and negative. We will not insist on positive emotions, as they are easy to manage and, we could say, long awaited. But what do we do when anger, anxiety, envy, jealousy, phobias, excessive worries, hatred, aggression, loneliness, mistrust, sadness, guilt take the place of those happiness and fulfillment we were accustomed to?
Most of the time, an emotion or a combination of negative emotions impedes professional performance, affects family life, social relationships, causes people around you to notice that you are going through a difficult period, and so on.
Methods to help get rid of negative emotions:
- If they are caused by a person, the solution at hand is to distance oneself from them, both physically and mentally. Its presence will make you feel overwhelmed and lead to inappropriate behavior. If you can’t avoid him / her completely, try to think of beautiful things when you are in his / her presence, without necessarily paying attention to what he / she is sending you.
- Get a good night’s sleep in a restful way.
- Always plan activities to keep you busy: hobbies, sports, cooking, reading, walking, music, and more.
- Talk to your loved ones about the issues that are bothering you. You will see that a close friend can often be more helpful than a psychologist.
- Don’t avoid crying if you feel the need to do so. Tears release a variety of hormones that will relieve the negative feelings you feel.
- Always see the full side of the glass. Any loss, whether it’s a breakup or a job loss, is an opportunity for a fresh start.
- Feel free to apologize if you feel you were wrong. The guilt will go away as soon as you acknowledge that you acted improperly, especially if the person accepted your apology.
- Learn from your own mistakes. Analyze your erroneous actions and try not to repeat them in the future. Otherwise, you run the risk of spinning in a vicious circle.

By far the key to success for your success and getting rid of negative emotions is your aspirations. It’s all about daydreaming. Negative emotions are usually stronger than positive ones, and the phases of denial, lamentation, the feeling of going “from bad to worse” will be accentuated if you do not do everything possible to eliminate them. The same thing happens with positive emotions: dreaming with your eyes open about what happiness means to you, you will attract it until it knocks on the door.
Why do we say that? Because emotions work as a guidance system, but it’s important to know where we want to go.
Although society still shows a dose of skepticism about therapists (psychologist), if you deepen negative emotions for a long time, do not hesitate to turn to them and you will notice after only a few therapy sessions that you will significantly improve your quality of life.
